Lori Barnes is a 23 year retired veteran of the Active Duty Army, Army Reserve and Army National Guard. She has been the deployed soldier as well as the family member left behind with the kids while her husband deployed. Currently, she is the mother of one soldier and the mother-in-law of another. Her daughter is currently deployed.

Lori is a wife and mother of five, many of whom are grown. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, her two youngest sons, a leopard gecko, a mouse, a kangaroo hamster and eight fish.
